Ncell sponsors APF Cricket Team
Ncell has sponsored the men’s and women’s cricket team of The APF Club (Armed Police Force). It is believed to change the sponsorship scenario of Nepali cricket. Captain of the senior team, Paras Khadka, leads the new APF men's team while Neera RajUpadhyay is the women's skipper. APF Club is all set to field its teams in the regional national leagues.
“Nepalese players have shown a lot of potential in cricket recently. We are delighted to support the upcoming game of cricket. We believe that it will help to uplift the quality of Nepali cricket and to make an impact in International scenario,” Said Tommi Holopainen CFO of Ncell.
Ncell CFO Tommi Holopainen and AIG Shailendra Kumar Shrestha signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the sponsorship.
According to MoU, APF Club teams will now sport their own jerseys with the logo of Ncell. This will also open up way for other regional teams to find their sponsors which was not in practice as the teams used to wear the jerseys with event sponsor’s logo in earlier national leagues.
“Through all these signings, we are trying to set an example so that others will also follow our footsteps and ultimately Nepali sports will benefit,” IGP Sanat Kumar Basnet said on the occasion.
