Roaming FAQs

How can I activate roaming services?  
From 4th March, Roaming service activation is required only for India. Anyone traveling to India needs prior roaming activation. For other countries, roaming service will be offered by default.

•     Via Ncell App: Go to Roaming tab and activate.

•     Via USSD: Dial *123*7*1# and follow instruction.

•     Via E-sewa: Go to Top UP , Ncell, Roaming and activate.

•     Via Khalti: Click here to go to Top UP , Ncell, Roaming and activate.

Is there a fee associated with activating roaming service?
Roaming Activation is free of cost.

Do I need to activate roaming service to make voice calls, send SMS, and use data while roaming?
Activation of the roaming service is a must to access any PAYG service or roaming packs in India.

What are the services available in roaming?
•     Voice and SMS can be used via pay per use and by purchasing packs.

•     Data can be used upon activation of data packs only.
 

How can I activate roaming packs?
•     Packs can be activated via Ncell App, website, E-sewa and Khalti

•     Dial *123*7# and follow instruction.

What do I need to do before travelling abroad?
Please follow the below steps before travelling abroad:

•     Activate the roaming service. (If you are travelling to India)

•     Purchase data packs. Not necessary to buy voice and SMS pack.

•     Make the data roaming on

•     APN: WEB (only for Android)

•     Have enough balance.

How can I make calls while roaming?
You can make calls in different numbers as mentioned below.

How can I register in operator networks/change networks?
•     Switch off - on your handset for a while after landing

•     If the mobile is not connected automatically to the network, try manually in handset setting.

Why am I not able to use the data service although I have activated roaming?
•     Purchase data packs

•     Make the Data roaming On in your handset

•     Set Access Point (APN) as “web” (only for Android)

•     Check balance

How can I troubleshoot in case of any issue in roaming?

  • 4. Who is the Insurance partner for Ncell?
    Himalayan Everest Insurance is the insurance partner for Ncell and will take care of all the queries and claim settlement related to Insurance.
  • 5. What is the eligible age to claim the insurance ?
    The insured customer must be between 16 year to 60 years of age.
  • 6. Are there any Terms & Condition for Insurance ?

  • 7. Can I buy multiple packs at once ?
    No, only 1 pack can be bought any given week.
  • 8. Will the pack be renewed every week ?
    No , the pack is valid for 1 week from the date of purchase and won’t be renewed after expiry.
  • 9. Can I claim for insurance for Doctor’s consultation?
    No . The insurance is applicable only in case of Accidental Hospitalization where the customer has be hospitalized overnight due to any kind of accident or procedures due to accident that doesn’t require hospitalization.
  • 10. What is covered under the policy?
          1. You are eligible for personal accident insurance of NPR 100,000 subject to the terms and conditions. Personal accident insurance is paid out in the unfortunate event of death due to an accident.
          2. You are also eligible for upto NPR 100,000 of hospital bill reimbursement if the hospitalisation has been necessitated due to an accident, subject to the terms mentioned in this document.
  • 11. Is the hospitalization due to pregnancy covered?
    No, pregnancy is not covered.
  • 12. How long is the policy waiting period for the same?
    No waiting period except in case of hospitalization due to COVID-19 in which 15 days waiting period from the enrollment date.
  • 13. Which hospitals are eligible for the claim procedure?
    Any government registered hospital worldwide is eligible.
  • 14. What to do when I am hospitalized?
    Inform to insurance company within 7 days (at the earliest possible) of hospitalization with reason for hospitalization, date of admission and name of hospital in email or phone to call center.
  • 15. What documents I have to submit for claim process?

    All calls outside these times will be responded to within 24 hours.

          1. Hospital discharge summary
          2. Nagarikta patra
          3. Scanned copy of cash bills (Tax invoice) incurred for the treatment
         4. Attending doctors/hospital's Prescriptions, X-ray, other Reports copy
    Accidental death claim requirements( death out of country) :
         1. Dead Body hand over certificate (Las Sadagat Purji)
         2. Spot investigation report (Sarjamin Muchulka.)
         3. Post Mortem Report.
         4. Personal details (citizenship number, address, email etc) of nominee
         5. Banking details of nominee for claim processing
         6. Relationship certificate

  • 17. Is there any time limit to submit the claim documents?
    Yes, within 60 days of hospitalization date (occurrence date)
  • 18. Do I need to submit all the original documents for claim process?
    No, copies will do for hospitalization.
  • 19. When will my claim be settled?
    Within 14 days after the complete claim documents are received by HEI call center.
  • 20. How will I get the claim amount in the country of my residence / travel or employment ?
    You can get it through cheque or transfer only into your bank account in Nepal.
  • 21. My expense is too high but why I get very less reimbursement amount?
    Benefits are proportionate to the price of the pack.
  • 22. Can I have the details of reimbursement amount?
    Yes, the details of the reimbursement amount will be share to the claimant before the claim is settled.
  • 23. Why my claim was rejected?
    Normally the claim gets rejected when the incident is excluded in policy terms and condition. However, for specific reasons, please call the call center and quote the claims reference number you got through the SMS and they will help you.
